Grants for math and science classroom projects

Connect with donors eager to fund your classroom project at Donorschoose.org. Submit a short proposal detailing your needs (supplies/equipment for classroom projects) and the website will post it for donors to see. There is no deadline for submissions.

The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics sponsors various grant programs. Their website includes tips for writing successful proposals for these grants.

Toshiba and NSTA sponsor the Exploravision award program for student innovation and invention. Entries are submitted by age group (K-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12).

NEA Student Achievement Grants support projects designed to encourage and develop student academic achievement through critical thinking, problem solving, and habits of inquiry.

Lowe's offers grants to build an outdoor classroom in your school. Application deadlines are December 31 and June 30 of every year.

Seeds for Education Grant provides native plants and seed for your outdoor learning center. Application deadline is October 15.

Kidsgardening.com links to several grants for educational gardening.
They offer a grant to establish a rose garden to be tended by children to commemorate 9/11/2001.

Grants to support your professional development

NEA grant funds teacher professional development. Applications are reviewed three times a year.

Apply for a one-year sabbatical at Tufts University to further develop innovative ways to teach science. Teachers of grades K-12 are eligible.  Applications are due February 1.

Teacher Awards and Honors

Presidential Awards for Excellence honors great Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) in grades K-6.

Teacher of the Year Award from the Air Force Association honors an outstanding math, science, or technology teacher.
